About the Place
Meet the 'Men of the Forest'. Semenggoh is the biggest orangutan rehabilitation centre in Sarawak. Witness these gentle giants swinging through the trees during feeding times in their natural habitat.
History & Heritage
Established in 1975, the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre was originally set up to care for wild animals found injured, orphaned, or illegally kept as pets. Over the years, it has become a premier center for the rehabilitation of orangutans, teaching them how to survive in the wild. Today, it serves as a sanctuary for a semi-wild population of orangutans that have successfully graduated from the rehabilitation program.
