History & Heritage
Annah Rais is one of the oldest Bidayuh settlements in the Padawan district, with a history spanning over 200 years. The longhouse has maintained its traditional bamboo architecture and communal lifestyle through generations. It was once a fortress against headhunting raids, and you can still see the 'Panggah' (headhouse) where skulls from past battles are kept as sacred relics.
